As I sit at my computer, I find myself wondering, "Is the title of this blog only addressing my lack in updating my blog posts?"
While I do apologize in not writing and updating those who take the time to read my posts,, I have to say that really, when I think about it, the answer is definitely "no". I (like many people, I'm sure) look back on the last hectic couple of months and wonder what actually got done. While I'd like to say that everything I planned to do was completed, I need to take my head out of the clouds, take a step back, and re-evaluate.
I have always been a firm believer in "lists". There is nothing more satisfying then methodically crossing out each item on a piece of paper. No, I cannot create a list on my phone...to me, it has to be on paper. My mind is constantly reeling with never-ending "to-do" list, as a mother, crafter, and personal growth/goals as well. Last week, I sat down and finally decided to take a break to list some updated goals and get them DONE! Here are a few fun things I have planned...
First thing on the list...update my tutorials on both the new Cricut Design Space 2.0 (due out soon) and the amazing IPAD app (available soon as well). The Cricut team has done a wonderful job listening to their customers and have made the software easier, faster, and exciting. With a new software, I must keep up and hope to make my tutorials even "cleaner", more professional, and easy to understand
I have also found myself creating some fun projects and I will be setting some time aside to make tutorials for them, so keep an eye out!
There are so many things I miss doing that I've added to my "list". I need to spend some quality time with my daughter and husband, eat healthier, exercise more, etc., but I also need quality "Tracy" time. I miss drawing, painting. I miss....creating.
Believe it or not, I have also created a "Not to Do" list.. This has been more or less a mental list, but still valid regardless. I need to NOT second-guess myself. I need to stop worrying that something I say or do will be taken the wrong way. I need to NOT feel "sub-par" in comparison to some who maybe are a little further ahead of me. All will come, I have no doubt.
With that, I challenge YOU to make a list if you have not done so already. Sit down and really think through what you really would like to do as a mother, crafter, gardener,....whatever you consider yourself to be. Do you need to finish a scrapbook that has been half-done for six months? Do you need to re-organize your craft room? What can you do to make your life easier or happier? Don't like to-do lists?? Think about what you have already done!
As far as my other items to do, I will myself to be diligent in making sure that a few items are marked off each day. This list will never be completed as I am constantly adding on to it. However, what would I do if it was??
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!! I have to apologize for my hiatus in writing and posting. The last couple of months have exhausted me, inspired me, and kept me very busy and I thank you for taking time out of your busy day to stop and see what I'm up to. Here's the latest...
I have realized in the last couple of months that I have been needed by many teachers and schools in my area (and outside my area) and am working on something really fun to help and inspire all of you teachers out there. Nothing more to say on that yet. :)
My mother has been in town to visit and I had so much time showing her what my Explore can do...she's amazed and it was so fun watching her learn. I did take a quick break to take Samantha to Lego Land here in Florida. Wow. It was so amazing and inspiring to see what structures could be built and how much time went into them (I must admit that I stopped a couple of times in the gift shop and said to myself, "I can make that."). At this time, my mom did have to jump in and (politely) tell me to stop thinking about my machine and focus on my excited daughter at her favorite store.
The rest of my time has been creating glitter ornaments, floating ornaments, customized etched glass, and after seeing a post on facebook, EOS lip balm holders for last minute gifts. YES, I did attach the file for you to download for no fee IF you subscribe to Cricut's Design Space.
Happy Holidays and keep watch after the New Year...will have lots of new projects for you!!!
Wow, that sounds sappy, doesn't it? :) It's true, though. I spent many years of being a cynic, feeling that all companies (especially ones in the technology field) were only interested in selling their product, then leaving the consumer in the dark to take care of issues or questions on their own.
Enter Provocraft and their new CEO Ashish Arora, who joined the company about two and a half years ago. Last year, I was one of many loyal customers who were "on the fence", balanced dangerously towards another die cutting machine out of frustration. In my mind, I saw beautiful birthday parties, thoughtful gifts, home decorations...there were so many things I wanted to create. However, I was limited to my material, images, and a basic software that didn't allow for more intricate manipulation of designs.
But then...I got the Cricut Explore. I want to create my own svgs? Ok. I want to cut felt? Sure. What about leather or....(gulp)...wood? No problem! The machine slices effortlessly through material quietly and beautifully, cutting large images (up to about 23 inches) and small (less than 1/4 of an inch).
And the technology involved....wow. The Bluetooth capability helps you design and cut without a cord hooked directly to your computer, therefore freeing up your work space. Trust me, that extra space is much needed as even with a large dining room table, I spread everything out like I'm preparing for a natural disaster.
Design Space, the cloud-based software used to design your projects, is amazingly simple and new features are added all the time. For $9.99 a month, you can ha,ve access to over 25,000+ images, with more being added regularly. If you wake up at 2:00 a.m. in a cold sweat, realizing that you forgot to make those mini apples for your daughter's classroom, guess what? You'll find it in design space...and chances are, you'll find more than one image to choose from! No more pounding on the front door of Michaels early in the morning in hopes that an employee accidentally fell asleep in there. :)
The carriage can not only allow you to cut, but also score and write, which means that your handmade card will have a beautiful design, perfect score mark, and wonderful sentiment written on it, perhaps in a calligraphy font, which looks so professional that people would think that you spent years studying the calligraphy style used during the "Old English" period. You can tell them you did. I won't tell.
"Print, then Cut" is another fabulous feature that has recently become available to Explore Users. This gives you the ability to Print an image using your printer, then load it into the Explore to have it cut out...even the most intricate parts of a photo or printed images will not be missed! You can now print your own sticker paper or vinyl to use for parties, decorations, and more!
Ipad users jump for joy! I'll stay sitting as I haven't gotten an Ipad yet (sigh). The "Make it Now" projects in Design Space are available to make with an Ipad app...and more to come in the near future with the Ipad as well.
This is a company that truly cares about their product and people. So much so that you can regularly find the CEO, CFO and other executives on social media, listening to concerns and asking questions of their own.
So yes, this truly is a "Company that Cares" and I will be the first to stand up and say that this cynic has changed her mind. I believe that the consumers have a responsibility to tell as many people as possible when they see a company doing what they should be doing, and maybe all the other companies will start noticing and change their mindset as well!
Ok, maybe a few.
Ok, maybe I am still a cynic.

If chosen, I will be flown to Salt Lake City, work with the designers to make my project available for the "Make it Now" Section of Design Space, and be featured in on the Design Network! I've always made it known that my DREAM is to work in the crafting industry for a living and it finally feels like it might happen one day! :) What a great feeling!
Here is a little "glimpse" in to what my project is....the whole project will be able to be seen when voting starts on October 16th! I'll also be working on a YouTube video featuring the design, posting the website info for voting and asking for YOUR HELP! :)
I hope you all have a fantastic, creative, and productive crafting weekend and as always, let me know if you need anything or crafting supplies!
They say that Sundays are a "Day of Rest". Not for me.
I've renamed them "Busy Sundays". I love Busy Sundays. Sundays are my personal time to get the things done that I want to. Of course, laundry, grocery shopping, and cooking dinner are on my list first, but when that's all done...bring it on, baby.
Today, I just uploaded a new YouTube video and am going to do some much-needed work on my website. Afterwards, I get to craft for a few hours to prepare for World Cardmaking Day!!! What day is that, you ask??? It's only an awesome fully day of creating Stampin' Up cards and papercrafts for a FULL DAY this Saturday, October 4th! I'm so excited to see what is going to be made....
I usually end this day exhausted, but contented. This is the only day I can clear my mind and focus on what I'm doing. I enjoy it, need it, and look forward to it every week. What about you? Do you have a certain day that you can spend only by yourself? What do you do? If you don't, I strongly suggest it. You'll be amazed at how this time can really help you maintain your sanity.
Whatever you do today, I hope you enjoy it! As always, feel free to browse my website or if you need supplies, click on my Stampin' Up Website link on the left! There are "Weekly Deals" posted every Tuesday. Happy Busy Sunday!
Well, here I am about 2 months into this website and I still struggle to explain to people who I have chosen to take the time to create and upkeep a website. To me,, it's quite simple: To help others get started in a creative craft, regardless of what type it is.
Initially, I found myself gravitating towards what I knew best, which was (and still is) anything about the new Cricut Explore, scrapbooking, papercrafting, cardmaking, working with Acrylic and Oil Paints, and Stampin' Up products. Now, it's time to start another section...ready for it? Face Painting!
Why choose this? Well, frankly, because it's new to me and is a really fun thing to do with my daughter and her friends. What could come of it? Who knows...maybe a fun side job, maybe just a fun thing to do. But really, what does it matter? The whole joy in starting something new is the LEARNING process...watching YouTube videos, figuring out the right type of face paint, experimenting with colors.....
This excitement that I have is the reason why I started this website...to encourage YOU to have the same feeling when you are first starting out with your new hobby. I hope you are enjoying yourself, you learn something new, and please let me know if you want to learn about something that is not yet on my website...who knows? Maybe we'll learn it together!
Once I got my cricut explore, a good friend of mine (Thank you Lisa) introduced me to the fabulous website svgcuts.com. I have not looked at any other website for 3D projects since. They have helped me decorate for a beach - themed party, Frozen Party, Dinner party, and now Halloween.
How the heck do they come up with these fabulous projects? I don't know, but I am so happy to be able to make these amazing things. I'm enjoying it so much, that a video will be up soon on how to import and size your first svgcuts project will be up soon!
Interested or want to know more? Shoot me an email!
When my daughter was invited to a "Frozen" themed birthday party last Sunday, I knew I wanted the card to be something the birthday girl cherished.
Enter Anna and Elsa (and Olaf!) from Frozen. My box card was created using my Explore and the template was purchased from SVGCuts.com. Add the characters and some snowflakes, and ta-dah!
I didn't even have to write on the card...the explore wrote a perfect little note on the back of the card, embellished with the "Frozen" title. I hope you had an "Amazing FROZEN Birthday, Bailey!"
I am having WAY too much fun with these Santas from Stampin' Up. He has already been in a Box card, regular card, and now....a spinner card! How could cartwheeling Santa NOT make you smile??
For those in Design Space, I have the file to create the Spinner Card available for you to upload. For those who are not, don't worry....it's very simple to make! All you need is a trimmer, paper, foam dots, and a penny!
Ask me how you can make it and I'll get you started!
